Peasants’seeds : interview with Jose-Manuel Benitez
This interview was made on January 20, 2014, during the mobilization of the farmers of the European Coordination Via Campesina in front of the European Parliament. The goal of the mobilization was to make parliamentarians understand that farmers need their seeds which are the basis of all alimentation. Farmers want to be able to use hetergeneous varieties and are againts patents. They want a regulation of seeds so that multinational corporations that control the market of seeds can’t do want they want with them. Jose Manuel also explains what are the risk if the reform of the European Commission in seeds is voted as is it and why farmers are againts intellectual property is misused.
