International Women Strike (IWS)/Paro Internacional de Mujeres is a grassroots movement established by women from different parts of the world. It was created in after October 2016 as a response to the current social, legal, political, moral and verbal violence experienced by contemporary women at various latitudes. The IWS consists to date of representatives of 22 countries: Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Uruguay, Ecuador, Germany, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Russia, Salvador, Scotland, South Korea, Sweden, and Turkey. Women in these countries will strike, mobilize and rally in different cities with the same claim: #SolidarityIsOurWeapon
